Hello!

In the hope that somebody would know.

Apparently sometime during early 1942 (before June at least) it seems Field Marschall Wilhelm Keitel visited Slovakia demanding more Slovakian input for the battle at Eastern Front. Slovakian Prime minister Tuka apparently hosted him.

Does anyone know the time of this visit by Keitel?

The information is only needed for timing one important discussion between finnish counsellor T Suontausta and Keitel. It took place during Keitel visit in question.

Thanking in advance,
Kari

According to “The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich”, by William L Shirer, at a conference on April 29 and 30 1942, Keitel had already secured two Slovak divisions for use on the Russian offensive. This is not an exact answer to your question, but at least it narrows down the time a little.

Hope this helps,

Bruce

Kari,

Keitel was in Hungary between 20-23 January, 1942 (for the same reason). It is not sure, that maybe on the route back, he visited Slovakia also.
