Hi,

Does anyone know what the Fleet Air Arm chevron colours were pre-war.

I have seen a photo of a Hawker Osprey from HMS Eagle dated 1932 and wondered what the chevorn colour was.

Thanks,

Alex

The Chevron colour was black for HMS Eagle aircraft at this time.

I hope this helps

Hi Larry,

Thanks.

Would you know what the other carriers colours were for this period? I know Ospreys operated from Courageous, Hermes and Furious.

Alex,

The Colours were as follows:-

HMS Courageous - Light Blue
HMS Hermes - White, later Green
HMS Furious - Red
HMS Glorious - Yellow
HMS Ark Royal - Dark Blue/ Red / Dark Blue

With silver coloured aircraft of the prewar period, some had black or white edging to the respective ship's colour, with white edges to light blue and black to the yellow of HMS Glorious
