I just discovered this one the other day.*

Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B-17_Flying_Fortress:_The_Mighty_8th)

GoG.com (http://www.gog.com/gamecard/b_17_flying_fortress_the_mighty_8th)

I was given the game as a gift on GoG.com and I had been wanting to get this for a while now.

Easily one of the most technical and just wow-realistic simulations out there. Not only do they have a completely modeled B-17 cockpit with working switches...you have to know what they all do! And if you feel like it, you can even fly fighters as an escort or as an attacker.

I'm posting this so I can recommend everybody the game. I'm just in love with it. It's a great simulation (although a bit dated) of my favorite bomber of WW2.

*This is not to be confused with the 1992 DOS game B-17 Flying Fortress.

Yup, that was/is a great combat simulation, but haven't played it in quite a while. There was a pretty active online community in its heyday answering questions about playing the game, providing a wide variety of skins for the game's aircraft, and flying virtual bombing missions. You might find the following two sites interesting and helpful: http://www.bombs-away.net/forums/viewforum.php?f=4 http://www.angelfire.com/fl5/bombardier/help_links.htm
Have fun !
