Laurent, do you have a loss on 1.1.45 in the Metz area?

Only a P-47 doing a crash-landing in Metz on New Day 45

Most of the above list is from the USAAF Overseas accident report list available on the Web:

http://www.aviationarchaeology.com/src/AARmonthly/Jan1945O.htm

Replace Jan1945 by the month you're interested in.

I'm working currenlty only on October 1944 and is gathering data over airlosses, but only in this time period.

Thanks for the input.

This was an RAF/RCAF Loss from 443 Squadron.
The a/c was found in the Deurne area burnt out.

F/O L.P.E.Piche and F/O A.J.Horrell were both killed.

The only one that I think fits is Auster V NJ669 that in Air Brit NA100-NZ999 is noted as SOC on the 11-10-44 with 127 Wg.

Any other info welcome as someone else has said thet it was a captured Bu131 that they were in.

Some people here have extensive loss data

ALL THAT I GET IS THE RESPONCE THAT I AM NOT ALOWED TO .

I ONCE CONTACTED ROSS AND HIS REPLY WAS TO THE EFFECT THAT IT WAS DUE TO MY FIREWALL PROTECTION, BUT I KNOW NOTHING OF WHAT I SHOULD DO EXCEPT ALTER THAT SETTING WHICH I DID, INDEED SWITCHED IT OFF COMPLETELY- RESULT STILL COULD NOT POST TO THAT FORUM

RESULT GAVE UP TRYING.

Hi,

F/O Horrell was from Ontario and left a widow

F/O Piche I think may have been an American as his widow lived in New London in the USA

These details from the CWG pages.

Both airmen are at rest in Venray War Cemetry

You're welcome.

According to Mr Henk Welting, on RAF Commands forum:

"Auster NJ669 (127 Wing) on a ferry flight from B.82 (Grave/Keent, Holland) to B.70 (Deurne/Antwerp, Belgium). Strayed off course and was shot down by AA-fire or light flak. Crashed near the farms of Fleurkens & Jeurissen along the Deurneseweg (name of a road) at Ysselsteyn, province Noord-Brabant, Holland. Both airmen were 443 Sqdn and are buried Venray War Cem.
Hope this info helps, have a good weekend,"
