8th Air Force mini-series

I only recently found out (from some January 2013 press releases) about the 8th Air Force mini-series to be (being ?) made for HBO by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. However, I haven't seen any updates about it online, nor any mention of it on this board. Does anyone have any current news about this ?

I heard about this back when that press release came out.

I'm very excited for it...but like you, have not seen any current information about it.

Its currently in the script writing phase. Donald Miller was at the recent 100th Bomb Group reunion speaking to survivors obtaining further accounts and details from them.

Hate to be a wet blanket, but remember it is being made by Hollywood, so take the series with a grain of salt!

It's also made by the same people that did The Pacific and Band of Brothers IIRC.

That sounds like an interesting series. I suppose it would take a little more resources than those other mentioned her.
