Does anyone know about the following book available through Avions Bateaux:

Editions De Krijger
Les pertes de la chasse Allemande de jour en Belgique 1940/1945
Par Pierre Watteuw

This is volume 1 (1940-42) of Luftwaffe fighter losses over Belgium. I.e., does he list his source(s)?

I am familiar with his earlier tome in the Hors series:

Hors-Série n°10 -
Les Pertes de la chasse de jour Allemande en France.
par Pierre Watteeuw

Which concerned German fighter losses over France in 1939-40. It was excellent.

Any information would be appreciated.

Watteuw lists his sources on pages 79 and 80 of the book. They are:
1) Namentliche Verlustmeldungen - WASt. Berlin

2) Flugzeugunfälle und Verluste (Genst. Gen. Qu. 6 Abt.) - BA/MA Freiburg

3) About two dozen books, including:
- Prien's volumes on JG 3, JG 27, JG 53, JG 77
- Caldwell's and Priller's JG 26 histories
- De Decker & Roba's volumes on the Belgian air war
- Mombeek's JG 1
- Ring & Girbig's JG 27
- Aders & Held's JG 51
- Schreier's JG 52
- histories of several airfields (Antwerpen-Mortsel, Le Culot, Wevelgem, Moorsele) by Dillen, Pied, Vanackere, and Vanoverbeke respectively.

4) Michael Holm's Luftwaffe home page (now at www.ww2.dk)

5) Contributions and help from several people, including Roba, Mombeek, Taghon, Vanhabost, Dubois, Caldwell, Charlier, Clinaz, De Decker, Derneden, Dillen, Holm, Rosipal, Vanoverbeke, Vervoort and Warburg.

The content of the Belgian book is similar to the one on France. The differences are:
- the descriptions are not as detailed
- the photographic reproduction is not as good
- the Belgian book is smaller (i.e. dimensions and page count)

They're both great resources.

Hope that helps,
