While searching -without success- for the name of the pilot who landed at Capoterra with a P-38 on 12 june 1943, I've found two reports of downed allied airmen that, perhaps, could be useful to other researchers.

On 25 january 1943 a british officer, Lt. Alan, was captured in the sea and sent to the Cagliari hospital. In the he was described as "navy officer observer RAF"

On 21 july 1943 Carabinieri of Villasimius found on the beach of Capo Carbonara the body of a frenchman airman serving with RAF: the name is indicated as ERPC (Eric?) Rolanmuller, born in Paris on 8 may 1917.
He was buried in the Monserrato cemetery.

While this is an old post, I recently found out who the pilot was on 12 June 1943 and thought I would provide a link. See:
