Nice find Snautzer!
This is Ju 88 C NB+CT, presumably found at Gießen. I am interested in its unit. There is an emblem on both sides of the nose which I have identified as the one of "Überführungskommando Chef des Ausbildungswesens" (Ferry/Liaison Command of the Head of the Training Establishments (or something like that)). Can anyone confirm this? |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Greetings everyone,
Post #4073 - This is a clear “before” shot of the “after” one in my files. In my photo, the netting is still elevated on its mounting posts, vs this one where is has collapsed on top of the aircraft. This portrays Junkers-Bernburg-built Ju 88 G-6 (WNr. 62xxxx) night fighter (one of eighteen found on the base), marked D5+KS from IV./NJG3, and abandoned at Fl.Horst Skrydstrup (Hadersleben) Denmark (coordinates 55.220833 9.269444). It was equipped with FuG220b radar with vertical dipoles). Respectfully, Steve Sheflin |
