Thanks Nick,

For pointing out the features of this machine which, if I understand you well, could be a second 6.(F)/122 refugee ?

Cheers
Marc

I’m fairly sure it’s a second 6.(F)/122 machine (and by the way, I think it may also have a FuG 101 radio-altimeter antenna under the port wing, outboard). In Italy, 4. and 6.(F)/122 undertook night photography and FuG 200 reconnaissance over the sea. I can’t remember at the moment which did which—I’d have to look up that up in my own book—but the plan was to amalgamate the two Staffeln because there were not enough Ju 188s remaining after production ceased to keep them operating separately for long.

Ar 96 is a Hungarian plane.

All told, 5 Ar 96 were recorded in the 9 May 1945 A.I.2(g) Report with no details given.

18 Bf 110 G-4's were also recorded in the same report, alas again with no details at all for most of them and only 6 W.Nr.'s given.

Two Ju 87 D's were recorded: A Ju 87 D-1 W.Nr. 5157 and a Ju 87 D-3 with no details given.

Thanks Snautzer !

Possibly a replacement for Bf 109 G-6 W.Nr. 440179, black 21 of Stab III./JG 26 which was damaged when Nancy was bombed on 25 May 1944.
