Re: KG 40 Combat History

I’ve finally finished reading this excellent book, which I really enjoyed.
Here are some comments, mainly relating to “the numbers”.
Some will be typos, others down to errors in the records, and some possibly down to my own errors.
I offer them in good faith.

P103 I thought D-AMHL was lost on 27 September 1944?
P190 WNr.550062 became TS439
P195 Kuntze’s machine is correctly listed as WNr.3101 in the boxed text, but WNr.31312 lower down on the page.
P244 Correct Mosquito serial is DZ375

Now on to the most useful loss tables (Appendix I)
4.12.40 – I don’t think WNr.2302 is valid for a He111
29.4.41 – WNr.0054 was F8+HH
15.7.43 – WNr 15175 – an identical loss is also listed on 15.7.44
14.10.43 – WNr.0089 is listed as F8+JH in your Fw200 book (Classic 28)
18.12.43 – WNr.535743 is also listed as 100% on 21/22.2.44
26.11.43 – WNr.535371 is also listed as 100% on 26/27.1.44
29.4.44 – WNr.550142 is also listed as 100% on 14/15.5.44
7/8.6.44 – both WNr.550211 and WNr.535731 are listed as F8+LK
13/14.6.44 – this should be WNr.550048 (which was KM+TX)

Most helpful Andy and thank you. With a book of this size, such errors whether self-inflicted or otherwise are inevitable (the number of times we read, corrected, re-read and corrected loss list is proof of this!) and I will go through this today
