Thanks Rudi for posting! This is only the second shot I see of this Me 262, the other one was printed in an old Jet&Prop issue years ago (see attached jpeg).
This is Me 262 170070 E7+02 / White(?) 12. Originally it was allocated to E-Stelle Rechlin and was found at the war's end next to one of the Autobahns between Hannover or Bremen and Hamburg (so either the current A1 or A7, where exactly I don't know). How it ended up in its final resting place, whether it has been used for combat or from which unit it received its tactical number I also don't know. I would welcome any additional info on this bird. |
