Is this Lent's Bf110 when he was GrK IV./NJG1 1st Oct 1942 - 1st Aug 1943? His kill list during that period would have been 53 at the start and 73 at the end.
Is that a RK or EL ribbon with a total at the time of the award in the centre of the top row of kill markings? If the caption date of 31/7/1943 is correct then the total kill markings should be 73.

In the menu bar right above the box you type your post in: seventh icon from the left. (If it doesn't appear, then click the "go advanced" button beneath the box). It looks like this:

Type or paste in your material, select all of it, then click on the icon. Job done.

(You keep discovering these huge amounts of photos and I keep losing my place on returning to the list after checking each one out, so numbers can really help).

Photo 2. may be a combination of images.

1) Examine the buildings in the background, especially the roof and windows.
2) The two men by the propeller have drastic shadows. One man has no shadow on the ground.
3) Examine the area where the top of the background meets the sky.

I propose that the buildings are drawings, the differing terrain features were layered on, the figures were added on another layer, and the background earth meets sky was cropped and added. A Photoshop composite.

I'm not sure what Michael Meyer would have to gain by selling a fake given his reputation. I believe it's much more likely that the original is of lowish quality.

I agree. Just pointing out some odd features in the posted photo.

I agree with Steve. Both men have shadows one is combined with the Bf109E wing. The buildings are and look genuine to me. The sharp edges of all subjects do give the image an odd appearance but apart from that it looks okay.

Still doesn't mean it's a fake, more likely a duplicate. As I've said before, given the thousands of photos he's sold over the years obtained from former Luftwaffe personnel I just think it would be foolish for him to sully his reputation in this way.

BTW, I don't particularly know him but have bought the odd photo from him.

38017 (349th BS, 100th BG) damaged by enemy fire during mission to Berlin and crashlanded Schwelsig Airfield Mar 3, 1944. The crew mistakenly thought they had reached Sweden. 10 POW. MACR 3025. Aircraft salvaged by Luftwaffe and operated by KG200, perhaps as A3+GE. Destroyed at Jagel by P-51s (Bauer)

It does mean a world of difference. I see many pictures that are sold again and again without notation of being a well known copy. It is like selling a car and "forget" to tell it had previous owners. Most of them are contact prints and not original period copy's.

Mr Meyer apparently has a good name according to members here, so for me, that is good enough.
