It possibly didn't stay with II./NJG4 for long after this, since a Ju88G-6 took over the 3C+PN code by the beginning of March 1945.

Thanks for this lead and connection, Rod: indeed the next "3C+PN", Ju 88 G-6 W.Nr. 620643, was found at Wunstorf by war's end and figures in some of the best known IWM photos:

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Hi Marc,

According to the available daily II./NJG4 strength & serviceability returns in ULTRA, Ju88G-6 W.Nr. 620643 was with II./NJG4 on 7 March 1945 (Verbandskennzeichen unknown), so it was taken on unit strength before that date. Ju88G-1 W.Nr. 710547 is only mentioned once in the returns for January - March 1945.

It was disingenuous for me to say 710547 went off unit strength - possibly only the Verbandskennzeichen changed. II./NJG4 still had a few G-1s on strength up to the date of the last available strength & serviceability return on 22 March 1945.

Cheers

Rod

Post #1793: I believe that this photograph was taken at Fl.Horst Flensburg-Weiche (coordinates 54.774503 9.377935) and illustrates Ju 52 3mg6e (MS) (WNr. unknown) marked 3K+CK (C=yellow) from 2./I./MSGr.1. It has been ignobly piled atop an Fw 190 F-8 (WNr. unknown) marked C+I yellow.

Respectfully,
