If you scroll down a bit that is also the opinion of our own Steve Scheflin
Only difference seems to be the actual colour of the digit 5.....

Cheers (or perhaps in this case Respectfully Yours)

A nice set of photos (click + zoom!) from Brüsterort airfield. Source is Museum Berlin-Karlshorst.

Thanks for those, Christian. Unusual camouflage on the wings of that Fw 190 "12 – +".

Nick,

Possibly replacement wings from another Fw 190? As I recall, when spare parts were no longer available, parts from other nearby aircraft that were no longer serviceable were used.

I found this photo during a routine search for other interests and thought it may be of interest.

Description: Women's Army Corps Private Betty Jones, left, receiving telegram from First Lieutenant Kathryn Leach of the Red Cross Motor Corps. Miss Leach handing Mrs. Jones a letter from her husband, Lieutenant Colonel Richard I. Jones, who was captured at Panay and is a prisoner of war in Japan. The delivery was made at Farrington Field where Jones is helping set up the United States Army Air Forces (AAF) "Shot From the Sky" exhibit. The two women are standing in front of an airplane. Star-Telegram Morning Edition February 28, 1945.

Thank you for this find.

Note how close to the canopy the black cross is painted. This is the famous (?) Bf 109 F-4 having a Red (?) 19 painted behind the cross, a white band around the fuselage and a large Swastika re-painted on rudder. I have no other informations.

Regards,
Franck.
