#1 is actually Whitley P5026 of 78 Sqn, shot down by flak on the night of 28/29 Nov 40. All five crew were made POW.

Re: eBay: Allied intrest

Ed,

your 11 December selection was an amazing mix of interesting aircraft. Many thanks.
#1 was Battle P2200 'GB-K' of 105 Squadron, lost 10 May 1940.

Your 13 Dec. #2 is Spitfire P9374 'J' of 92 Squadron, lost on 24 May 1940 near Calais with P/O P.F. Cazenove a POW.
#3 is a really great find. A Blenheim Mk. I with the 'KQ' code of 55 Squadron. They used the Mk. I only until December 1940 apparently and did not operate in Greece. Their base from June 1940 until January 1941 was Fuka Main in Egypt. The best candidates seem to be;
L8397, 31 August 1940
L1538, 18 October 1940
and possibly L8530 on 12 October 1940.
All crashed at or near Fuka.
It would be great if someone can positively identify this Blenheim.

Regards,

Martin Gleeson.
