Photo 103 is the closest to those in the other books.
The Mosquito was not handed over to other companies to produce (although there was much subcontracting of small parts). It was built in DH subsidiary companies - the shadow Standard Motors in the UK, DH Canada and DH Australia. It was not built using common boat-building techniques but very specific sandwich construction for aircraft manufacture. No doubt the individual boat-makers workers' skills would have helped enormously, but their factories would have had to be totally revamped. For the fuselages, anyway. |

Fascinating stuff - note how flattened the bottom of the aircraft is, rather than circular as in older kits. However, I didn't see anything like Kuscha's photograph.
