Re: Ta154 after the war in UK?
I saw a discussion about this machine once on Hyperscale and I think the main conclusion was that this wasn't an A-1 fighter but an A-2 trainer. But that's all from memory, I may be mistaken.
O wait I just found it: http://www.network54.com/Forum/14967...e-seat+trainer |
Re: Ta154 after the war in UK?
Information in the book Focke-Wulf Nachtjäger Ta 154 "Moskito" by Dietmar Hermann, 2006, points in the same direction regarding 320003 - It was a single seat training A-2 version:
Built at Erfurt as a series production machine. Attached to Erprobungskommando EK 25 in June 1944. Transferred to III/EJG 2 in Nov 44. Probably used to train pilots about to convert on nose wheel equipped aircraft, such as the Me 262. It was one of the few Ta 152s captured with only minor damage. There are four photos of this a/c in the book on pages 142, 143 and 150. No information in the book on what happened to this a/c after VE-Day and it's capture at Lechfeld. Regards, Goran |
