Re: JG3 Victories
Rob, They were possibly heavy damaged and didn't go down at the time to be witnessed. The TB-3's were suppose to have only have been used for transport in the daylight to Keiv but the VVS were losing a lot of bombers trying to stop the Panzers advance to Keiv.

Re: JG3 Victories
Khazanov states that on the 26Jun41 that I, II and III/JG3 claimed 26 DB-3 bombers (He used JFV 6/I as reference). He stated that actual VVS DB-3's shot down were 16. He didn't give units, times and locations.

Re: JG3 Victories
Dmitriy Khazanov used Dr. Prien's JFV 6/I as one of his sources in his book. He has listed on 15Aug41 that I/JG3 acheived it's 400 victory in which 89 IAP lost a LaGG-3 in the Kiev area.
JFV 6/I has the following listed for the 400th. Stab I/JG3 Lt Detlev Rohwer I-153 (24) 17:50 N. of Kanev Difference in a Mono and Biplane. |
