Re: Circus 40 8 Jul 41
Dear Andy,
according local Belgian records, a body of F/O Jiri Machacek (Czech), No 145 Squadron was found at the same afternoon in De Moeren, 6 kms South of De Panne, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. He was identified by local farmers by his ID tug. But, unfortunately exact place of burial is still unknown. Possibly his ID tug was lost during transport between crash- and burial site. Most probably he is buried as unknown in Adinkerke (together with soldiers of Czech Armoured Brigade fighting during 1944-45 around Dunkerque). Do you received, please, a some photos of Sgt Pavlik´s (313 Sqdn, lost 5 May 1942) you asked me for some time ago? jiri |

Jiri: the question was asked by me not Andy but thanks! In respect of Strembosz, the casualty card has a note that his body was found in a wood at what appears to be 'Jarlotte'. Could this be La Motte?
