Re: Bomber Command raids and routes
Bring a camera when you arrive in the PRO. You are allowed to use a digital camera and you can copy the route maps like the rest of us.
I can't help you with all the maps that you need, but I can help you with some of the maps from northern Europe |
Re: Bomber Command raids and routes
As I will be in Devon I just got them to send copies to me; at least I think that's what I did as I paid my 10 quid!
Whar maps do you have? |
Re: Bomber Command raids and routes
Hi Mongoose44,
it may seem stupid but just to ensure that you understand; the GBP10 that you paid is purely for the quotation for the files that you requested to be copied. Once you receive the quotation and if you proceed to order copies, the 10 quid will be deducted from the overall cost of the copies plus postage. There is no refund (as far as I am aware) if you decide not to order. As I mentioned in my previous post, you can't beat the amount of sheer info in these reports but it can become very expensive to obtain a lot of copies. For example, an order for the Interception tactics Reports covering the period 1-17 March 1945 ran in to well over 100 A3 pages and (combined with around 20 pages from other files) cost just over 110 quid including postage. So I am just wanted to confirm that you know what you're letting yourself in for! An alternative to obtaining all the reports for the period that you require is to only request the route maps. This would save a lot of money but you would not get all of the info from the reports and, besides, for the odd raid, route maps weren't pepared at all.... Cheers Rod |
