Re: Mid-war Naval Coordinate System
Hi Don; I apologize in advance for hijacking your thread. I was just wondering if you would mind taking a peek at a question I had posted on Feb.10th regarding Obfw. Max Martin's pre-JG26 service? So far it hasn't recieved any bite's. I figured if anyone would know, you would.. Respectfully. Dean

Re: Mid-war Naval Coordinate System
Hello Dean --
I try not to ignore genuine requests where I think I can help, but until very recently I wasn't checking TOCH every day. I can do that now as a result of giving my eMac a wireless internet connection for Xmas. Martin made one claim in 3./ZG 76: a Bloch 131 on 26 Sep 39. He was flying Bf 109, WNr 3142. He then transferred to Herzogenaurach for instructor duty, and joined 8.JG 26 on 8 Nov 1940. Hope this helps, Don |
Re: Mid-war Naval Coordinate System
Hi Don: Thanks for your reply. Just wondering if that could still be 3/ZG26? I THINK, not 100% sure, that 3/ZG76 was still in Poland with Bf110's at that time.. In any event your information is much appreciated. Thanks. Dean

Re: Mid-war Naval Coordinate System
Hi Dean --
I'm positive Martin's claim was made in a Bf 109. My original notes say he was in 3./ZG 76. Some other material is in deep, deep storage -- I'll track it down when I get a chance. Don |
Re: Mid-war Naval Coordinate System
