The widow of Werner Girbig donated the parachute and some other parts to the Technik Museum in Berlin.

I knew Mr. Girbig. Only issue I had was that he never looked for Allied MIAs. There were a ton in the area he lived in. Back in the early 80's we talked about that a bit. I myself look for MIAs from both sides. Danny

You posted an interesting aspect to Werner Girbig and his MIA search, and piqued my curiousity: can I ask if Mr Girbig discussed why he looked only for German MIA's when you spoke with him in the early 1980's?

An understandable concern but he would have had his hands full surely with all the German missing? His priority was those of his native land, is that so bad
