Unfortunatelly the Apali website does not respond to my e-mail, :( so I must wait for others book retailers, to have available the book ....

It is listed on the Aviation Shop website at http://www.aviationshop.fi/ Click on Kirjat on the left hand side. And they will answer emails in English.

Guys

Got the book yesterday from Lennart and what can I say? Didn't think he could outperform his former books, but he manage somehow to wring still more details out of ancient Soviet (aka Russian) files, and if you are interested in THE complete Soviet civil aviation history during the 1920's and 1930's (+ WW 2) there are just two words for this book. GET IT!!

Never thought I would see the Soviet civil register of this period in print, but I just did....:)

Cheers
Stig

The same photo was published in "Polish Wings 7" together with a colour profile that shows CCCP-C235. I think that the registration looks more like CCCP-232(x), but have not seen any document that refers to PWS-26 aircraft.

Better late than never. A firm proof of the full code:

In your book, this code is given as worn by a U-2, registration cancelled in Jan. 1939. Can then be assumed that the cancelled registrations were (sometimes) reused?

Good! Yes, registration numbers were often used more than once. They probably had no idea that this would cause problems to people in Sweden, Canada and other places some 70 years later. Strange guys... :)

Hi
The photo of this PWS-26 is not the same it is next (or the first edited) from the oposite side (this in PWS-26's book is right side, this below is left). It is Lvov-Sknilov, Lwów-Skniłów airfiled in VII 1941.

I have a color drawing exactly this particular plane specialy done for my book "Red Stars Black Cross's Ally over Poland" printed in IX 2008 in Poland according Tomek's photos, which scan is also in Denes collection?.

You may see it:
