One more question. I found that III/ZG 26 pilot, Ofw. Gottlieb Braun (an ace with six B-17 kills, all claimed in few days before he was killed) was KIA in aerial combat on 14th october 1943. Any more details?

I have the loss of #150 131 as due to engine damage, and the crash location as SW of Lorient. It doesn't mention that it was combat related.
