Hi,

it`s only my asumption. Basing on photos I noticed that they started to paint this new emblem somewhen in June. Owing to this I believe that the new captain picked out another emblem for his staffel.

Just out of interest do we have the details or date of Oblt Harry Arndt's loss whilst with 9/ St.G51.

According to our notes:

ARNDT, H. 07.06.40 Oblt. and Staka 9./St.G. 51, KIA - shot down by ground fire and force landed between Senarpont and Campneuseville; tried to evade but was killed by infantry fire. Aircraft damaged but repairable.

We can find no particulars beyond this.
