Hello All,

Thanks for your answers...
I did look already for Hans-Karl Mayer but I thought his history is a little bit unclear. http://aircrewremembrancesociety.com...anPilotsM.html
& http://www.luftwaffe.cz/mayerhk.html

The Kracker list gives us three planes: Bf 109E-3 "White 2", Bf 109E-4/B(10/40), Bf 109E-7 Wk # 4138 "White 8" (9/40 Etaples, lost 10/40) and the is - may be -another "White 8" here: http://www.me109.info/display.php?a=e&fid=6426 I said "another" since the white 8 refered cited in the Kracker list have been lost in Channel!

Now: I liked "Hansi" because of his first name -one of - was Hans. He is more reknown to be "Mayer-ast".... than "Mausi"

Do we known if he had a personnal emblem on his plane?
We can see sort of a "White 8/2 or 9" some closed number on fuselage...

Cheers, Franck.

Your wish is one side of the medal, the reality of Sütterlin the other. This is more than clear an "u" ... have a look on the "n" in the word before ("kleine"). Sorry ... it's "Mausi". An second ... the article "die" doesn't fit with "Hansi" (should be "der" ... I know German isn't an simple language).

Best wishes
Rasmussen

Hello dear Rasmussen,

I understood, that's the reason I wrote "I LIKED"; I didn't say I didn't accepted "Mausi"... And, by the way I said nothing concerning german difficuties; I was always far better in german than in English, long time ago.

Well, this emblem? I still got no comments about what we see under the canopy.

Cheers, Franck.

It is definitely "Die kleine Mausi...". Otherwise it would mean "Der kleine Hansi...". That´s wrong, because "Die..." is easily readable.
Believe me. I´m one of the last human beings who have learned Sütterlin thoroughly at school;)

Regards

Fran
