On the day at 14.00 o'clock Finnish time two Soviet I-153 strafed the airfield and the hills around plus Malmi town. At Malmi town a chemical factory was set ablaze and burned to ground. Source for this is war diary of Malmi tower or personal diary of a air traffic controller. IIRC held at Helsinki city archive? I have only copies received from a friend.

Could be that one too because the direction fits to both incidents,
I guess we will never be sure which one.
(Funny thing is that my parents still live only 100m away from Koller´s crash site.)

FW 200, I think too, it was done during Hitler visit in Finland too.

Small correction, Hitler visited Immola not Malmi. (It was 6th of June)
Mannerheim took off from Malmi and returned 27th of June.
If you look at the video you can see that it has rained and concrete tiles are all wet.
In a pic, sun has started to shine but tiles are still partially wet.
So that is why I think it is taken just after Mannerheims visit to Germany.

Hello ddude72,

when Heribert Koller was in Finland in last September, we visited his crash place at Malmi with a small group. One of us was a person who was involved in the search process when Koller´s FW 190 was "re-found" in 2006.

This person told us that he knows another person, living very close to the crash site, who has a picture which was taken right after the crash. This photograph is supposed to show the burning remains of "Black 12", the machine of Koller. For some reason, the person who has this photograph, is not willing to show it to anybody.

Do you happen to know anything about this? I know that this might be just a rumour, but if it is true, that photograph would be very interesting to see, not least for Mr Koller himself!

Best regards,
Raimo Malkamäki

Hi Raimo,
I heard when you visited the crash site.
My father was also there, not one of your group though.
(But like I said he lives only 100 m away...)

I have never heard of that kind of photo, but I will do some investigation.
I will keep you all informed!

Hi Raimo,
I have been asking about the picture you´ve mentioned but unfortunately no one knows anything about it.

Still, one interesting thing came up:
One local resident has a machine gun barrel from Koller´s plane(!)

He is not willing to sell it but I will ask If I can take photo if it.
