Christ, not this topic again. War is rotten, and every nation was guilty of this sort of thing. Kind of like the Americans blaming the Germans for the 'Malmedy Massacre', which apparently never happened, whilst giving orders to their own troops to execute out of hand Waffen-SS and Fallschirmjaeger prisoners during the Bulge.

Worth pointing out, perhaps, that in his London Gazette Dispatch on the Battle of Britain, Dowding states that he believed the shooting of RAF pilots on their parachutes descending over Britain was justifiable and legal. (I cannot recall the exact wording, but have it somewhere)

He went on to say that shooting LW aircrew (by the RAF) descending over Britain was not legal because they were already POW.
