...although most of those still using that (old) definition are - erroneously - basing that exclusively on the exterior appearance of the aircraft...!

To use that with some reason, one should have proof that the aircraft in question had a DB 605 AS inside, which is rather difficult, considering that there were about 50 of them only... (unless having an intelligence report of some kind, of course!)
