Trying to work out how long it had been there as the fence behind is not damaged, been repaired.

Think the 'body' is the starboard main wheel.

Looks like it is gradually being robbed of spares between the photos - spinners, plexi etc.

Does look like the remains of a Fiesler Storch.

Would have required two new wings, engines, undercarried and repairs to underside so 70% seems reasonable.

Hi.

I think 5J+JT must be the 22.04.1940 incident, as the words ´Zaun durchbrochen´is included in the loss record text. Too me this reads that the aircraft ended up outside of the perimeter of the airfield.

I have this one in my 'He 111 norway 1940 unknown' file :) I can't read the markings but it lies outside the fence...........

Hi Chris,
Your eBay photo is showing 1H+ES of KG26 which ended up on Oksenøyveien at Fornebu airfield on April 9, 1940. This photo is probably taken the same day as the day after on April 10 another He 111 flown by Hajo Herrmann, 5J+KR, ended up at the point where the photo is taken from, breaking the fence and resting with its engines and nose on the same road.

Goran is correct, I have a much closer photos of this a/c, showing the codes 1H+ES, apparently taken at Fornebu on April 12th, a couple of days after it ran off the runway. Am considering this one for a profile and need a close up of the nose area showing the unit shield insignia.

Can anyone help.

Hi Larry,
1H+ES carried the KG26 'vestigium leonis' emblem on both sides of the nose. A good shot from 11 o'clock position during the dismantling at the crash site clearly shows the unit emblem under the cokpit. The caption in the book has it as mid-blue shield and a white lion being an aircraft of 8./KG26. Photo is from Bundesarchiv Koblenz. The same page has a smaller photo upon which the emblem can be discerned on the starboard side o the nose.
