There would be no GQM report from Mar-44, most of the 1944 reports being missing/lost. His FB does list his being shot down at Hopsten on 6-Mar-44 at 14.45 after an Alarmstart from Wiesbaden. But, as Kaczmarek says, no injury, no WASt report. His last claim was on 26-Nov-43, though he has another 6 claims of damaged aircraft from that date through 21-Apr-44. His FB picks up again on 20-Aug-44 with a training unit.

The GQM lists of 1944 are not missing or lost. It is known that these lists being in UK since the end of the Second World War. Nobody can say whether and when these come back to Germany.

Are you sure about that? The Verband records for 1944 certainly aren't among the microfilms available from the PRO, or at least not that I've heard myself or from anyone else I know who would be interested in such records. The Schulen losses are available through Sep-44. I have those as microfiche which I got from another collector. There is also a fiche set from Dec-44 for the Verband. The fiche sets are from the Bundesarchiv.
I, and I'm sure a number of others here, would be all over the Verband records for 1944 if we could get our hands on them.

Could still be one linked to 354FS/355th FG as the 109 was described as 'crash landing at high speed'

I quite believe it. There are many potential interested parties there.
I know it from a experienced researcher of missing airman. He said always we will know more if the GQM lists of 1944 are back again in Germany. I never heard in which archives or authority are these lists. I think, but I don´t know these have a period of suspension and not open for the public. Unfortunately I have no detailed informations to this day. I had seen scans from GQM lists of 1945 from the IWM in the past and I think these are also availbale by the BA/MA.

I have the 1945 GQM stuff too, but very interesting comments on the 44 material. Thanks Kaczmarek.
