Classic did publish a book on the '109, Messerschmitt Bf 109 Recognition Manual, by Marco Fernández-Sommerau, which did not live up to the expectations. A new, comprehensive book is indeed needed (strange fact, after so many books on the topic have been published).

I'd love to have a comprehensive book about the 109, preferably concentrating on the technical and developmental aspects of it (especially answering why were some modifications carried out) and answering how the 109K had much higher VNE than the 109G.

Late 109 Gs had higher VNE (850 km/h IAS up to 1 km, and 800 km/h up to 3 km if fitted with older airspeed indicator, or 850 km/h up to 5 km with altitute-compensated indicator), if fitted with the following modifications:

- enlarged fin and rudder
- horizontal stabilizer travel limited to +1º 10'
- increased width elevator tabs
- reinforced ailerons

109Ks were fitted with those in series.
