No info in my database. I suspect, that he was killed on ground and not in an aircraft crash.

Loss of Fw. Georg Spring 26-06-1944

Matti, thank you very much indeed for taking the time to search your files on this matter.

However, I have to own up to a schoolboy error here in that I misunderstood the caption on the rear of the photo, in reality it was a dedication to his brother, and not in rememberance of him.

Thanks again for your help.

Regards Richard.

Never mind. It was only a couple of minutes job. My computer did all the work.

Hi Richard,

I was just going through some photos I've downloaded from eBay when I came across one that was captioned as follows:

"Fw. Spring kommt v. flug zurück
Am 27. Juni tödlich abgestürzt.
Reichshof!
1944"

Not sure if you received this photograph with the document set. It shows an FW 190 marked 'Black W + -', with Fw. Spring standing in front of it.

All the best,
Andrew A.

I have not received the image you have mentioned however, I would be very interested indeed in seeing it! Was it just a single example or part of a grouping?

Might you able to post the image here or even e-mail it to me at all?

Regards Richard.
