It first appeared on the left side of the pond in the late 1600's using Jamaican rum produced by British distilleries on Jamaica. We shake fresh ground nutmeg on top. It's delicious but very fattening and intoxicating.

Well, looking at a map with north to the top, NA is on the left side of the Atlantic pond.

Don't be afraid of it, Ed, give it a try. It's very Britttish and I think you would like it. The eggnog comes in quart and 2-quart milk cartons and plastic jugs at the supermarket. You just pour in a glass and stir in 1 part of your favorite rum to 3½ to 4 parts eggnog with a little fresh ground nutmeg on top. Best served refrigerator cold. Deeeelish!
