Hi, all

Quite an interesting claim series. Did these guys really claim FW 190s?

How can you mistake a Bü 131 from a FW 190?

An open cockpit two seater inline engined biplane vs a radial engined low wing monoplane?

And to call it an aerial combat would may be to stretch it a bit??

Was there any regulation towards what you could call a combat claim and what you could not in the RAF, so that the crews knew that shooting down unarmed trainer aircraft would not count?

Andreas B

Good point Andreas! Unfortunatly I have not answer to that. Think there should have been a difference in shooting down a fighter and an unarmed trainer aircraft. Maybe during the exciting dayranger mission the Mosquito crew mixed up what a/c they have seen on the ground and which one they destroyed airborne?

@ David Pausey: Did No. 515 Sqd. deploy Mosquitos on the same day (30. September 1944)? Do you have any more infos about thouse crews?

Thanks alot! Regards, Kurtl
