You are welcome! Sometimes it is really difficult to see some details of the photos, especially when the plane-parts are damaged, or the photo-quality is poor. I hope you'll find the crew, based on the Luftwaffe claims! Cheers and good luck!

Definitely, me too I would like entangle the puzzle but 4 this I need few fixes...
such as date or year or location or the unit claiming the victory such as Flack or
Air 2 Air . One thing doesn't look right as into 8th GVF Kiev..the camo paint does
not match the crash photo...secondly this type of paint was introduced by early 1943
...or maybe was the paint of an other transport group near Belarus or Moscow I may
not be familiar with , coze my area of reserch is Ukraine,Crimea, Romania, Bessarabia
and Moldavia .

The PS-84(DC-3) was manufactured in license by the Soviets already by mid 30's
and was not a typical lend/lease item. This model was seen with red star already
during the Spanish conflict ( check left hand photo). In 1941 the 8th GVF PS-84's
had similar camo paint like this seen in Spain.

I am attaching the early PS and '43 version ....

Yes, there are several open questions about this plane indeed. Unfortunately I have no info on the date or the location, since I just saw it here on the forum, like many others. Cheers,

Gabor

There were a number shot down in 1941, the first being by Oblt Erhard Braune of III/JG 27 on 13 Jul 41

Chris

The PS-84 of Oberleutnant Braune was in the Smolensk area way out of my research area ,therefore no quote on that. I still believe that the crash photo is in Ukraine. Also judging by the crash site view ...it seems to me , was a low altitude chase crash ... possible due to flack too . It seems to me that the front part of the aircraft separated prior impact in the air and hit elsewhere the ground.......
