The wrong higher figure of 68 would have granted him a JG300 score of up to 47 claims and thus the top ace rank of that Geschwader.
A Konrad Bauer total of 36 with 18 JG300 makes it likely that Klaus Bretschneider, who scored all of his kills in JG300, is the real top scorer of that unit.
Can you tell me if he had a total of 31 or 40 ?
