But I wonder what the point of it is if you do nothing with the information they contain? It seems a bit like a dragon in its cave sat on a pile of gold. What possible use is the gold to the dragon?

W.W. may view the originals as an investment that could eventually be sold on e-bay when he needs retirement money. The photocopies would have little re-sale value, of course. The Militaria Collectors market is very large so there is always a ready customer base out there for WWII German documents and awards, as well as daggers, swords, emblems, entire uniforms, etc.

His first flight in KG 4 was on 02.09.1942 with the He 111, 5J+DU, in Avord (the first days are bad to read ... the copy is to light ...but the next flight was on 08.09.1942 - the last in Große Kampffliegerschule Parow on 29.07.1942 ... so I assume it was the 02.09.). An type was mentioned one times -- He 111H-5. He changed to 8./ KG 4 between 04.10 and 09.10.1942. Then he transfered from Wittstock to Posen on 16.10.1942 - here were done "Verbandsflüge" and "DFS 230-Schlepp" (crew: Obfw. Barczewski, Uffz. Kremer, Gefr. Gillenkirch). On 07.11.1942 transfered to San Pancrazio/ Sardinia and Lecce. Flight no. 1040 - 1063 (2 pages) are missing in my copie (maybe they are somewhere in the papers). The next flights were from Makajewka and Bagerowo (Schlepp Go 242), time frame January - February 1943 (for example with He 111P-3, VJ+JZ, or He 111H-16, 5J+KS). In March/ April are mentioned bombings of the "bridge head" Noworossisk with starts from Saki. Later he was in Karatschew. His last flight in KG 4 was on 28.07.1943 from Schatalowka (was stopped because of engine failure, He 111, 5J+ES, 19.05-20.05). The next flights were in the end of 1943/ 1944 with Fi 156 (CN+GH, K1+QH) and He 111, Bf 108. The last flight was on 13.03.1945 with Bf 108, K1+CH , to Marienbad (Marianske Lazne).

Best regards
Rasmussen

The (K1+ - -) Verbandskennzeichen was for Stab and Flugbereitschaft/Luftflotte 6 and that would nicely fit his flights to and around Marienbad in March 1945. It might also suggest his capture by the Russians at the end of the war.

Good morning Rasmussen, a special thanks for providing the Flugbuch details on Mejstrik. This is most appreciated and will really help me.
Thank you for your time effort and indeed to all the other guys who have contributed.

Kindest regs,
