Re: The Bf 109 losses in Spanish Civil War: verified and unverified

hi,

no great help but i send you what i have:

20.4.1938 Sagunto: Bf 109 (pilot?) shot down by I-16->
claimed by 3ª Escuadrilla

11.5.1938 Sra Espadán: Bf 109 (pilot?) shot down by I-16 (Tarazona)->
The Bf-109 lost one wing due to damaged by Tarazona and fall in mountain range of Espadan

14.7.1938 Teruel: Bf 109 (pilot?) destroyed by mid-air collision with I-15 (Redondo?)->
No info about the Bf109 but:
Combat on Sarrion

5.9.1938 Bf 109 (Lutz) shot down by enemy plane or flak? location?
seems probable by flak, not found combats this day or at least Bf109 losses by combat..

13.12.1938: Bf 109 shot down. location? pilot? air combat or flak?
seems probable by flak, not found combats this day or at least Bf109 losses by combat..

regards

It seems that Bf 109 of Lt. Martin Lutz (3.J/88) was badly damaged in air combat against I-16´s - he managed to make successful forcelanding behind own lines, but the plane was written off.

This info was found from the modest little book of Michael Ziefle (2011): Die Messerschmitt Bf 109 B/C/D in ihrer Zeit.

From the same source also following claims:

Unteroffizier März - 3.J/88 (?), shot down in November 1938 (?) and ending up to be a POW.

On 29.11.1938 one Bf 109 "most likely" lost in combat.
