Post No.4: Merlin, my primary area of interest is the Luftwaffe fighter arm emblems. The apparently 10.(Jabo)/JG 2 emblem on the engine cowling, only the second example sported on the Fw 190 A aircraft that I have come across thus far, prompted me to make the inquiry. Having said that the pilot might have flown with 10.(Jabo)/JG 2, I did not necessarily declared the pilot had definitively belonged to that unit. After all, the only lead that I had was the barely visible emblem on the engine cowling. Thank you, I believe that the query is answered. If I may summarise.... A hand-down Fw 190 A from 10.(Jabo)/JG 2, on strength of 2./JGr.West, pilot Uffz. Hans Hieß, who was later killed on 3 April 1943 while with 6./JG 26, and buried at Abeville soldiers cemetery.
