11./JG 26 was a Höhenjagdstaffel, thus using the pressurized G-1 variant. The designation Bf 109G-2 significates, thet during repair all accessible items necessary for a Höhenjäger were removed. Happens not rarely with repaired G-1s. WNrn 14015, 14016, 14023, 14034, 14037, 14056, 14067, 14068, 14096 - most for JG 5

The aircraft was ferried on 20.02.43 from Deurne (where the repair was performed by Erla) to Vaerlöse (which acted as a Flugzeugschleuse for aircraft intended for JG 5).

There was no time left for any modification to a reconnaissance aircraft or for MK108 evaluation.

Hi Merlin, tanks for this new information, do you have the orginal dokument ? is it possible to get a copy of it.
So where is this camera equipment coming from ? My toughts have always been a donor airframe from an F ( 601E engine ) to rapid repair of this 70% damaged airframe.
And this " box " is only a relay, so i suppose it can control camera eqipment to, not only weapons.

Tanks in advance Merlin.

... and during transfer the engine was changed in Stade because of engine failure (the repair ended on 23.03.1943 and the a/c was flown to Vaerloese).

Ernst,

my data came from an old list of flights from Überführungskommando/Luftzeuggruppe Belgien-Nordfrankreich. I have not stored a copy af this paper.

Tanks both of you, no i think i have to reopen the orginal thread to se if we can get even more information. With the engine change at Stade we dont know if it was replaced by a 601E, do we? or a standard 601A.
