The a/c is coded white 4+I of 7/JG3 and appears to have a yellow nose and rudder. Subsequent investigation leads to this a/c having come down at
Rinxent, in the Nord Pas- de -Calais area possibly late summer - autumn 1940.
Would anybody happen to have a date or name for this incident.
Best regs,
Steve.

OK Steve, got it (I mean "Weisse 4" of 7./JG3) ...
It was captioned at Le Touquet, end 1940; nothing more I'm afraid.

As for JG3. I don't know where you got this information; for us it was just a match ... Though I don't remember exactly the original eBay caption.

Good luck! Best regards, Franck.

PS: Not THAT "secret" after all ;)

Steve,

Do your photos of the possible Rinxent crash (W4+I) showing the entire a/c with the tail not heavily overprinted from the eBay auction? This might be one of our EoE Color profiles, and I'd like to see what the a/c looked like with the full tail visible. My auction image shows a full port side view with two soldiers standing by the tail. What does the other photo show? Can you help?

Hi Larry, yes my port side shows the two German soldiers looking over the aircraft. I suspect the same image as you have.
The starboard image shows the complete side with what appears to be a yellow rudder, no W.Nr visible or any victory markings.
I hope this is of use to you.
Kindest regs,
Steve.

Hi Franck, so 4+I appears to have forced landed at Le Touquet late 1940 yes?
The photos came to me captioned 7/JG3, so I have no reason to doubt the validity. Many thanks for your location details.
Kindest regs,
Steve.

Re: Bf109E crash landing 7/JG3.

Steve,

I'm still not clear whether your port side photo shows the full tail, or is an eBay auction image with the swastika areas completely obscured with an overprint. Someone has also just sent me directly a full starboard side view of this one, with no overprint, which is probably the second photo that you have. Still need to get a copy of the port side view without an overprint, if someone has one.

Hi Larry, yes the port side has an overprint from the e-bay site.
Steve.

Steve,

Thanx for confirming that. It does appear that I now have both of the same photos that you have. Still looking for a port side photo without the eBay overprint.

Same thoughts :)
And Le Touquet, late 1940, yes.
