Re: Russian loss on 18/4 1945
Hello,
I've looked at my records and I can say that that particular loss of A-20 has location descripted as "mys Bruesterort" exactly (Bruesterort cape). But nevertheless this is too far from Bornholm. VVS KBF concentrated its attacks on Pillau - Koenigsberg area at that day and suffered almost all losses there. There are two machines, which were missed in unidentified place - one Boston of 15 orap KBF and one Boston of 51 mtap KBF. They flew a recce flights over western part of Baltic sea and hadn't return to bases. If 'your' aircraft fell to the sea in the afternoon, then the Boston of 15 orap is not an option as far as it took off on morning. Thus, 'your' aircraft is A-20-DO of 51 mtap (Lt.Koltashenko), which took off around 15:00 (14:00 in German time). Have you any further details about crash? |
