Re: Luftwaffe losses in raids on Kursk - John Beaman
I apologise for my unintentional abrasiveness. Any information is greatly appreciated.
As regards the overclaiming, it was probably caused by Soviet fighter pilots being unaccustomed to air combat involving large numbers of aircraft, a phenomenon which was also in evidence over the Kuban. In fact, my impression is that overclaiming by a factor of 10 to 1 or higher was the norm for Soviet fighters intercepting daylight Luftwaffe bomber raids. Jack |

http://www.bergstrombooks.elknet.pl/ Please forgive me, but right now I am totally occupied editing my new book on the Battle of Britain, so it may be published in October this year. I have to return to my notes on Kursk only later. My lack of a proper and exhaustive answer to all your questions is due to nothing else but a lack of time due to those circumstances. (Been working through all my interview tapes with Hermann Neuhoff all day today, adding his words to the Battle of Britain manuscripts where they fit. Have been working on that book for about 12 hours per day this last week, when we teachers are free.) |
