Re: Fw 190 V25 / Ta 152 prototype in soviet hands
Hello everyone,
Two photos of the same aircraft? Perhaps, but unlike GH+KO in the first photo, does not the aircraft in the second photo, _H+K_ feature the lower fuselage “Känguru” turbo-supercharger bulge? Is this difference possibly the result of a crash and later rebuild/modification? Steve Sheflin |
Re: Fw 190 V25 / Ta 152 prototype in soviet hands
Uh, Harold and Steve, wait one moment - the second photo I posted might actually be GH+KU! There is no guarantee that the Stkz.de guys were correct when putting it in the GH+KO file.
Now I even think the GH+KU possibility is much more valid for the second photo, as this plane, V31, actually was a Höhenjäger testbed and crashed in April 1943. I think the Stammkennzeichen-photo shows this incident..So nevermind, please ignore it! :) |

Christian,
I should have known better. Of course, you are correct. What is it they say...haste makes waste? Hal |
Re: Fw 190 V25 / Ta 152 prototype in soviet hands
As a professional photographer who spends lots of time doing compositing work - I can "guarantee" (strong word, I know) that photo of the GH+KO with Soviet soldiers is fake and not so greatly composed in fact.
Also that K on the fuselage is for sure not one that would be applied by Luftwaffe & finally the fuselage cross is not correct - since I believe that all those prototypes flew with the older cross with the outlines. |
