Seenotteilstaffel (Land) 20 operated in Italy (Campoformido-Udine) from October 1944 to April 1945 and seems largely to have been engaged in reconnaissance over the Adriatic with the Fw 190 A-8.

What little I know about it is in "Air War Italy 1944-45" (Beale, D'Amico & Valentini, 1996).

I believe Nick is correct. Each Seenotgruppe consisted of a Seenotstaffel and a Seenotflotille which I presume operated high speed lauches or similar to rescue downed airmen.

For what's it's worth, there is a photo of a line-up of Me 410s of Seenot.Gr.80 on p. 48 of the Squadron/signal pub. # 147 on the Me 210/410. And, although you can't see it in this shot, the closest a/c, F4+EC, had two victories on the rudder. And, contrary to what the caption says, it was an early Me 410 A-1.

Surely the Me410 (F4+EC) with two victories must have been Langer's aircraft? I believe he was the only pilot from this unit to claim two kills.

I've looked in some reference books about this incident. The Mosquito XIX was shot down "east of Lowestoft" while the Halifax claimed by SeeNot Gruppe 80 was claimed nr the Kattegat,i.e. near Sweden and Denmark.
It appears to me the Mosquito was shot down by another unit,maybe VKG 2?
I'm trying to find out if any Coastal Command Halifaxes were lost on this date.
