I just found this which lists six more Focke-Wulfs at Husum, on 18 August 1944.

Hi

The term "RG" seems to be a typo, the correct name "RV" (= Reich Defense) seems more appropriate.

best wishes

These aircraft do not appear to be ready for oerations, so I'd think it was more likely something to do with, for example, »Reparatur…« (repair) or »Rüstungs…« (armament).

P.S. At the moment i can't remember seeing the abbreviation "RV" for Reichsverteidigung in a wartime document.

Thank you Nick. Very interesting. I understand from that message that the aircraft mentioned may already have been with I./JG 26 previously and are being repaired / refurbished while other factory fresh aircraft have also arrived in the meantime.

All of these A-8 were produced between May to August 44 and were all quite new:

6808xx June-July 44
6810xx July 44
1714xx July-August 44
1709xx May-June 44
1730xx Jun-July 44
Source: Smith/Creek "Fw 190 Volume 2", p. 665

I don't know what RG could mean.

Could it be that 'RG' was wrongly translated by the ULTRA personnel and was in fact 'Erg.G' for Ergänzungs-Gruppe? In German, spelling out 'R' sounds virtually the same as 'Er' and the 'Rest and Refitting Gruppe' is also mentioned in the text.

Since I./JG 2 was at Husum for refreshing after the heavy losses after D-Day, it could well be that the whole Gruppe was called 'Ergänzungsgruppe' during the time at Husum.

For what it's worth, I've seen three pictures of Fw 190 left behind at St. Trond with the following numbers :
160699 (a Fw190 G3 ?)
173020
171472
