Yes, Good. But. Unfortunately I still find there in version of Ju 88 not built.
Part 1, p. 42. So one needs explain again.

In the 1940 period the designation Ju 88 A-2 (A-II) appears in Losses and elsewhere but this is false. No Ju 88 A-2 was built (cancelled variant), appearing in Production plans - later re-appearing as Ju 88 A-4 with Jumo 211 J engines - and it (A-2) was not an JATO equipped version either as some stated in the past. JATO was incorporated already on the Ju 88 A-1 wings.

But what is meant in losses was Rüstgrad 2 (between Rüstgrad 1 and Rüstgrad 3). Later this was incorporated in standard production Ju 88´s as /A, /B, /C and basically meant what operational-range they could attain (and payloads given in tables /A, /B, /C).

Same applies here.

BACHMANN, Werner. 15.08.40 Oblt., 7./KG 30 POW - Ju 88 C (4D+DR) force-landed vicHornby/Yorkshire after being shot up by 616 Sqdn.
This was A- /C (not Zerstörer)

BACKMANN, Werner. 15.08.40 Oblt., 7./KG 30 - POW Ju 88 A-4 (4D+DR) shot down by 616 Sqdn.
Spitfire and force-landed vic Hornby, Bridlington, 20 km SW Middlesbrough.

no-no no. No A-4 existed on operations untill May/June 1941!

BARTH, K. 03.06.42 Lt., 4.(F)/Aufkl.Gr. 121 MIA - Ju 88 B-3 (7A+CM) in the area of
Zagorsk-Rybinsk. [could be Kurt B.?]

Likely error, if not, a real treat!

BLOEDORN, Erich. (DOB: 06.07.02 in Mühlhausen/Thüringen)
WIA – in Ju 88 A-2 (5J+FR) shot down by AA duringarmed recce between Ostend and Boulogne.

Same error again.

Your response led me on a merry chase!
Regarding the Ju 88 A-2: My first reaction was this was obviously a typo, that may have been C-2, which KG 30 was known to have operated. The Norwegians found and are restoring one (4D+FH). But checking Larry's notes, the one in question had to have been a Ju 88 A-1.
Regarding the "Backmann Werner" case: again this was clearly a typo and has been deleted in its entirety.
Regarding "Bart , K." - while this entry is not in the current edition, I also guess that this likely "Kurt B." As for "Ju 88 B-3", obvious an error, I shall replace it with merely "Ju 88".

Thanks for the comments. It helps to improve the quality of the data. Its easy for errors and redundancies to hide in the vastness of the text, like a U-boat in the sea!

Doug. Excuse me. More old incorrectness.
"The Norwegians found and are restoring one (4D+FH)."
That was Ju 88 C-1 0133 - actually had short wings.
Sadly they decided scrap it (for parts)

Long time ago I corrected this, but obviously re-mentioning is in order.

Dear Doug and Larry,

A HUGE "Thank you!" for sharing your magnificent work on both the Luftwaffe officer summaries and the Luftwaffe airfields reference.

You're shining examples to all.

And thanks for the given name of Obltn. Higgelke — another piece added to one of my "jigsaws".
