Hi Byron.
I have info on a loss of a 109 and one damaged after an intercept by 7/JG27 on 23 Feb 1944 that belonged to 15 sqdn SAAF. 3 Baltimores were attacked by 5 109s and a gunner Harper claimed one that was seen to crash into the sea by the crews. The second on left smoking. It may be that they mistook the Baltimore as a Beaufighter. One SAAF Baltimore with Lt Peachey and crew was lost.
