Re: Joachim Müncheberg's 100 victory
Christer!
I found this information on the Spanish-language internet site (I know, I know it isn't good place to find such things) . I don't know Spanish, but it struck me that it looks like a relation of Müncheberg's Katschmarek or another JG 51 pilot from the 5 September (maybe it was a reprint from the second w.w. German newspaper?). There were mentioned Ju 87s. Strange.... Unluckily, I don't remember the adress (It was a few weeks ago). I found that by google (entry "Joachim Müncheberg"). |
Re: Joachim Müncheberg's 100 victory
Yes, Christer, I know that source:)
The fact is that several La-5s of 49 IAP were operationally assigned to 146 IAP/202 IAD at this time. Bashkirov claimed Ju-87 being a pilot of 146 IAP (this victory was finally credited to him as personal). Starshiy Politruk Gaidamaka failed to return from this sortie. Time of combat is about 7.15-7.35 (Moscow), so this is surely not Muncheberg's victim  Quote:

Re: Joachim Müncheberg's 100 victory
You are right, dear friend! :)
My source doesn't have the exact times. I suppose Starshiy Politruk Gaidamaka was shot down by return fire from a Ju 87 (if he was shot down). Does your source have anything to say about that? (Which is your source?) |
